I would like to read about local organizations that use OpenOffice.org

How many do use it?
How do they us OOo? What applications for what business cases?
What are the IT challenges, such as support, deployment, upgrade, integration?

I think it's a great idea collecting suggestions from readers. One of the greatest internet/blogging features.

Doing your business using free software.

I've been thinking for a while about what a treasure the open source free software is for new businesses start-ups. A lot of useful applications able to do almost anything you would do with proprietary software.

Still, when discussing with friends and clients about business ideas and resources needed to start a new business, many of them emphasize the cost of licenses. Even if the Internet is full of information about existing free software, there are still people not knowing that you could for instance build a whole editing house without the need of Photoshop, QuarkXPress, etc. (see my article on Scribus for instance).

How about a series articles on possible business ideas using the free open source software packages that would do the job ?
