Renewed website using b2evolution

Last months defined my activity as attorney at law closer to the IT Laws, Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence related counseling and legal representation in Romania, both for businesses and private persons. Together with this activity I took the step of renewing my professional website “Cristian Driga” Law Office.
The main page is in english and as backend it is my first attempt to use b2evolution blog engine (after using WordPress for so many years) which allows me to create as many parallel blogs I want and even aggregate them on the main blog.
I still have to deal with personalising the skin I use but since content is king, I decided not to spend too much time on the looks initially and start writing.
The switch to b2evo open source solution is not a switch but an attempt to experiment alternative solutions. I do not necessarily need a multi-blog and I already tested WordPress MU, but I want to restart experimenting new tools and platforms.
So far so good. It was easy to install and very easy to start writing. What is usually hard is to plan and organize your content, especially when it comes to categories and blog structure which gets indexed and you do not want to loose when you change your mind. But that’s not the platform’s fault but a mind fault.
UPDATE october 16th 2010: Of course I changed my mind. I am back to WordPress for this one ![]()
I used b2evo for almost a year – and now I switched back to WordPress. Why? Simply because now I see fit to use WP as engine for that particular website. And maybe because I like to completely change my websites from time to time. I got this tendency from the fact that webmastering is not a static task but a continuous try and improve it process. B2EVOLUTION is great as blog engine and I recommend it to everyone. Actually, the Google ranking improved after I adopted it. I did not take it out of my toolbox and will definitely use it again.
