The Romanian government is about to spend millions of euro on proprietary software

In May 2009 the Romanian Government has announced its renewal of a framework software licence with Microsoft. The licence deal is worth 100 million euro for government agencies licenses for use between 2010 and 2012 as well as 58 million euro as the final payment for the 2004 - 2009 framework licence agreement.

Firefox took large share off Internet Explorer in 2007

ITwire brings up the latest figures from French based Internet traffic analyst XiTiMonitor showing that during 2007 Internet Explorer has lost a significant market share in favor of the open source browser Mozilla Firefox. This is great news and it completes the image of an Open Source 2007 year.
