Portable OpenOffice.org 2.0.2

One of the greatest application hacks I’ve used a lot in the last month is the portable version of the OpenOffice.org office suite (includes Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Presentations, Database and Drawing applications and it’s totally free) which can be run from any USB pen-drive without the need to install it. I simply downloaded, unzipped and copied it to my USB pen-drive and there I was, ready to continue working on my favourite office suite on any computer wherever I was.

For instance, being at a conference where I was supposed to present OpenOffice.org, it felt great to be able to run the Impress slides directly from OpenOffice.org on a computer that had only Microsoft Office installed. I bet Microsoft Office can’t do that. And the PPT player does not allow you to do last minute changes to your slides prior to starting the show.

Visit PortableApps now and download for free the Portable OpenOffice.org version 2.0.2 available now and take your office with you on the road. That’s true, it’s totally free…and portable. :-)

While you are there don’t forget to check out the other great portable applications.

Thanks a lot to the crew at PorableApps.com.
